Very interesting to say the least falls. It is more beneficial to keep the hospital open than I thought. The dumb pricks you all call commissioners should read your research that is if they could comprehend it.

Falls,
Your websites confirm my earlier comments. Given the political climate in Yadkin Co. and the general lack of understanding of the situation by our leaders, only a miracle would help the situation here. A miracle is when "the right thing happens at the right time." Now is the right time, but the right thing has passed on by.
There are too many facilities within a 25 mile radius of Yadkinville including the new urgent care faciility in Jonesville run by HCM who invested lots of money there. The time for partnering by Yadkin Valley Hospital with a larger provider has passed on by.

Did you see anything any more recent. The economic picture has changed so much since 1990-2000. You are right with yadkins proximity to Winston and to North Wilkesboro.

Dog, I know you don't like Government sponsored research. The attached, while focused on the closing of rural hospitals and the impact on communities has a number of factors identified to quantify the economic impact of such closings.
I would sake the smaller of the calculated impacts in any range because Yadkin, while in many areas sparsely populated, does not technically meet the definition of rural due to its proximity to the Winston-Salem MSA.

So Advocate is it your stance that the hospital is so far gone there is no pulling it from its grave? Would it be less expensive to just let it die and sell the real estate for what it will bring? Would the economic impact be less then I am presuming by leaving it closed?

polar | Posted 7:38 pm, 06/02/2015 | How much is it costing the citizens of Yadkin County for legal bills the commissioners are adding up to reopen our hospital when they could have worked this out before it closed. Seems like our elected officials keep taking away from this county bit by bit. Instead of blaming another party they should have been men enough to do whatever it took to keep the Hospital, Emergency Room and the Clinic open for our County and its Citizens

underdog2 | Posted 6:54 am, 06/03/2015 | http://www.goyadkin.com/voi...0602084014There was already one thread here on the hospital. You comment at the end of it. And you are correct, your mouth breathers should have been working on a new lease with a new company long ago. You cant force any private company to do squat. I also notice some of the regulars on this site are sitting back in the shadows on this subject. |
Ok, A regular comment, an EMS Tech stated that they had much more equipment in their ambulance than was in the emergency area at the Yadkin Valley Hospital and that their equipment was up-to-date. The doctors at YVH had limited ability, knowledge to read MRI, CRT Scans.. The whole place was out of date due to the financial situation of not investing money on upgrades. This is nothing new it has been going on for over 50 years a second/third rate facility by comparison to those in the surrounding counties. The county took on a liability with the ownership of this facility in the first place and goverments as a whole do a poor job of management, look at the 25 percent increase being asked by Blue-Cross for those new Obama Care Enrolls last year for 2016, We for sorry for those who lost their jobs, that was a big hit, but the health care field and the computer field are where the job growth is today. Hopefully they will get jobs with more pay and job security out of this deal elaswhere. Those who lost doctors and other services should be able to find equal or better care elsewhere also.
