The Small Business Center of Surry Community College will offer a seminar titled “Track the Numbers – Break Even and Profit Loss Statement” to assist business owners with their financial recordkeeping and reports. The seminar will meet on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in room 224 at the Yadkin Center, located at 4649 Highway 601 in Yadkinville. Semone Brisson will be the presenter for this free offering.

This foundational seminar focuses on the “what, why, and how” of the profit and loss statement. Attendees will learn what numbers you should pay attention to, why, and how to determine a break-even point for your business. Understand “the cost of goods sold section” on the profit and loss statement and the difference between accrual and cash basis method of accounting. You will review practical examples of how to apply break-even analysis to your business in this great primer for the non-accountant.
