Beginning at 10 am on Saturday, May 2, we plan a full day of fellowship, fun, food and fireworks.

Thanks to local sponsors who share a concern for health and wellness, this year's Brushy Mountain 5K is free to runners/walkers. Beginning at 8:30 am, the top three finishers will receive medals; all participants will receive backpacks.

Brushy Mountain Winery will again host runners, sponsors and guests in an "open house" on Friday, May 1. Please join us! Live music, light refreshments and cash bar will be available, 6-8 pm at their winery on Main Street in Elkin.

On Saturday morning, you will find historic exhibits in the Senior Center with more displays and vendors on the upper field and an afternoon old-timers softball game on the lower field. There will be a full day of concerts, karaoke, local musicians and dancing until fireworks -- followed by another concert before festivities conclude.

Between 11 am and 2 pm, a silent auction will be conducted in the Senior Center. Proceeds from this auction will be used to complete a memorial to the 3000+Tri-County veterans who have served in our nation's defense since before the Revolutionary War. A list of Civil War names and tributes to be affixed to railings from the Hugh Chatham Memorial Bridge will be displayed at the Jubilee.
