What are the BAYADA home health care employee standards of care?

I know that home health care is a stressful occupation, and it is hard to find good help anymore. But the standards have apparently gone to a new low…

What if you had a Bayada employee who took care of your elderly parent or grandparent, and this employee owned 3 dogs she CLEARLY neglected (in violation of NC statutes)?

My neighbor is a Bayada employee and for years I have witnessed dogs under her "care" and "supervision" that are left alone for long periods. Days sometimes. One time at least a week. They have NO decent shelter – no escape from the wind, and barely any at all from the rain and snow. The inadequate and fully open plastic dollhouse they use as "shelter" has a bare dirt floor. Their "yard" is full of debris and trash, empty food bowls, and empty water bowls that only get filled when it rains. It is pitch black at night as the streetlights don't reach their darkness. They bark for attention. They starve. They freeze. They are not trained at all. No collars with ID tags. TWO are ELDERLY chihuahuas… which should NEVER be exposed to cold temperatures… let alone be starved.

I question the standards of acceptable "care" that a woman like this would have for anything. When confronted, she screams and threatens that those dogs "are loved" and how dare I bring them water and food, blankets and attention… and return them when they escape their ****sh loneliness and prison of neglect. I guess I deserve the "no trespassing" signs that she put up since I returned her escaped dog? Oh well, the next time they escape, I'll be sure to bring them directly to the shelter instead and not tell her…

So if your family member is being cared for by a Bayada employee named "Kim" please consider putting up nanny cams or other ways to see what kind of "care" this person is providing. She is either incompetent to care for anything, cruel, or both. Her standard of care is questionable as much as is her sense of right and wrong.

(And by the way, despite the laws that are supposed to protect dogs, VERY FEW law enforcement are willing to enforce them. Most cops just don't care about dogs and would rather shoot them or ignore their suffering. This is another fact. So if you know of dogs that are neglected and they happen to escape, just bring them to the shelter and say they were running free and leave it at that.)
