The voters of Ashe county showed how easily they can be duped. They were promised if they voted for the tax their property taxes would not be raised. Several of us had a thread and we tried to tell the rubes but they fell for it. We have told them to come back and tell us how right we were when they raise the property tax rates.

Ashe County passed a sales tax increase, Ashe is not Yadkin, but not all tax increase bills were defeated.

Winston-Salem voters embraced 5 bond packages. And how are bonds repaid-- with TAXES. But since it was not spelled out in bold letters, the voters looked at it like free money, growing on trees.
