GQ has nominated America's 20 craziest politicians and two from North Carolina's made the list: Rep.-elect Mark Walker, the Greensboro Republican recently elected to represent the 6th District, and Rep. Virginia Foxx, a Republican who represents the 5th District. They were Nos. 13 and 14 - though the article states the politicians weren't ranked in order of craziness.

Now before you say North Carolina was robbed, Dome would ask you to remember Texas. That state is represented by five nominees, one of whom is even a Democrat (Rep. Sheila Jackson). Dome's favorite Texas nominee is Rep. Louie Gohmert, who "said that if an oil pipeline in Alaska were shut down, it would diminish the caribou population because 'when they want to go on a date, they invite each other to head over to the pipeline.' "

So what brought Walker and Foxx to GQ's attention? Well, there was that little mention of laser blitzing Mexico, but the magazine also cites his worry that Obama won't leave office when his term is up: "I don't think that's out of the question. I think he's gotten pretty comfortable up there spending all of those billions of dollars on vacations for he and his family."

For Foxx, it pointed to her comment that she has "very little tolerance" for anyone with student loans and thinks the 16th Amendment to the Constitution is unconstitutional. And this: "Claimed the idea that Matthew Shepard was killed because he was gay is 'a hoax that continues to be used as an excuse for passing [hate-crime] bills'; later said 'hoax was a poor choice of words.' "
