Thats right nature they protect the crooks and Nc does not enforce anything about it.

So it belonged to someone else? That is tough for them too. I would hate to think that my dog killed someones kid.

My heart breaks for the family. And I see that some others feel the same-Without judging. So, those of you who grieve also- it gives me comfort. I am crying for them.

Hippa, theres another waste of good paper. Hippa was created to protect and hide medicare and medicaid fraud by companies and individuals.

just a person too

The dog was immediately taken to the vet and euthanized by the owner. Just let the family grieve and have some time. It was horrible, no one at fault not even the dog. A very tragic accident. I know the family well, The dog was merely playing with a toy in its mind, not killing a child. Very shocking a very sad. Just so sad. Just so sad.

Granddad and Southern Lady:
Be aware of HIPPA. You are in violation.

Why the secrecy, the news people should get it out. Some people could learn from others mistakes.

Was it their dog or one that was being boarded?

The tragedy is beyond words...My heart breaks for this family, which I know very well. As we all try to make sense of this, we need to (once again) understand the unpredictabilty of animals...even our much loved family pets, no matter what breed. This is a wake up call for us all. This family is loving, kind, and well respected. They are devoted to their children and to their business of caring for our pets. In the blink of an eye, the turn of our back, a glance down at our cell phone while driving, and on and on.....unintended tragedy occurs everyday.

Our love and prayers must surround this family...not our judgement...but our compassion for one another. Love in action......They will need help and support to move forward and honor the precious life lost...

Does anyone know about church services? I am from out of town...but want to come.

Walks the Talk

I think the world of this family. But since it doesn't seem to be on the news/ no public Service - Perhaps they just want to be left alone right now. Under the circumstances, people would be judging, and what's done is done---no matter what happens with the dog. This is just so very sad, and my heart goes out to the family. Can't imagine the pain.

I was neither trying to spread gossip nor point fingers. I feel terrible for this family. It just seems we see these breeds are often the subject of these terrible incidents. I was just wondering what would happen to the dog (quarantine, "put down"). And of course you know the parents tried to protect their child. I apologize if my query was misconstrued as accusatory toward anyone, and certainly it was not intended as gossip.

It is very true. My daughter helped x-ray the baby at the hospital.

This is absolutely heartbreaking. The family needs our prayers, not accusations, or speculations at this point. I couldn't even imagine the pain the family is going through right now.

I am so sorry to hear about the child. So sad. Rottweilers and Pit bulls both have an instinct in their blood to attack. I know all about the saying, "it is how they are raised". Not true. Being raised in a good home may prolong the inevitable but as they age, dogs get glitches in their brains that people may not know about. I would never trust a dogs of that breed to be around any children.

A hungry dog did a little munching on a kid. Sounds like real winner parents.

oh my gosh - I just don't have any words to convey my sadness for the family - will definitely get in touch with them. I can only suggest that we all offer our support to them at this time instead of pointing fingers or speculating about the dogs, the parents, or the circumstances. I'm sure there will plenty of that later on but right now, the family needs support not incrimination.

There was a child killed by a dog. That is all I know.
