No one needs to be on school grounds during school hours. Parents should arrive no more than 15 minutes prior to dismissal. Last time I looked you had to sign in at the office as a visitor when you came on school grounds. By lining up cars in the road to the school they are also creating a hazard as far as the police, fire, and ems responding to an emergency at the school.

In my experience as an employee of the school system, a lot of the parents/granparents came early to watch what was going on only to see if they could find something to complain about. They usually did find something and we would hear about it. I hate to say that and start anything but that's the experience that I had for many years. It might be the smallest thing such as the flag being worn out or a teacher speaking loudly to her students on the sidewalk. They have a right to be there and there's not much anyone can do.

Simple. No loitering on school grounds during school hours and enforce it. Any parent that arrives more than 30 minutes early and sits in the parking lot would be considered loitering since there's no legitimate reason to wait one hour and a half. oh, and enforce it.

What would be your idea of a solution mommy. I have mine.

I'm not saying bring in the national guard. I'm saying don't allow school parking lots to be a hangout during school hours. It's just weird.

Just what is it you really think the schools should be protected from? You are afraid of something that doesn't exist

This has been happening for years. Impossible to pick up your kid early for the dentist etc. during that time. Have to park far away and walk in to sign out your child. It would also be impossible for emergency vehicles to get in for emergency.

Yes. I know it's nuts and they sit there. In the parking lot. As the kids walk by from classes. I'm sure that it's mostly granny and pa that don't have anything better to do, but still. It's kinda weird to just sit in a school parking lot for that long. Every day.....

So these idiots are so H bent on being first in line to pick up the little crumb snatcher that they line up in the parking lot an hour and a half prior to school being dismissed for the day?

Nope, I just don't think random peeps need to hang out on school property. There's no reason to sit in a parking lot for an hour and a half. I think it's a safety concern that's easily eliminated.

In jail, in solitary, is about as protected from hazards as it gets.
Mom, is that what you want?

We had a deep conversation on ga about just putting a fence with razor wire on top and have one controlled access and there would be no need for the school yard barneys. We have them at every school in the county now. Doing nothing by the way. Knee jerk reaction by our mouth breathers.

my kid's school today I noticed the car line starting to form at 1:30 (OMG) and then I looked in the other direction and this guy was walking his pit bull on school property. Ugh. Am I overreacting or should we not protect the school area a little better?
