The backup battery ain't powering my phone because I don't have one, only internet service.

Yes, it's plugged into an outlet all the time.

Wouldn't be worth much if the battery was dead.

Ain't communication wonderful? The battery backup is interesting. I earlier said that your electricity powers the phone if it is on fiber. A backup battery must be recharged eventually-- or replaced. So if it is recharged-- or replaced --either you do it or YadTel does it. I am betting that your electricity powers the phone AND recharges the battery. Look for a cord plugged into a power receptacle-- that someone else plugged in.

They ran fiber optic here a year or so ago. I don't remember if the same junction box is outside the house or not, but I no longer needed the modem and they put a backup battery in the basement when fiber was put to the house.

I checked my speeds when I got the letter and it wasn't much faster than before the new plan went into effect so I knew I was going to have to do something.
After my router and wireless card upgrade, everything was where it was supposed to be. Even with the new router, I had to use the 5 Ghz frequency to get the speed I was supposed to have. There wasn't much improvement at 2.4 Ghz.

By "NEW" I meant is being on fiber new for you. Did they mount a new box on the outside of your residence- bury a new line up to your house within the last year? As far as I know, copper does not carry the high speed signal very far-- but fiber does.

Not exactly new service, I've been with Yadtel since 1982.

They ran fiber optic here a year or so ago. We turned off our home phone several months ago and only use our cell phones. All I have is internet now and it's really smokin!

Are you on fiber? New service for you? Phones on fiber rely on the electrical power at your house in order to function. Ordinarily, if your electrical power fails, your phone does not work if it is served by fiber..

I received a letter a few days ago about Yadtels new internet plans. The slowest offered now is 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload.

I had to upgrade my router and wireless card but just checked my speed and got 100.5 Mbps download and 98.7 Mbps upload.
For the first time in a long time, I'm happy with Yadtel!
