All I can say is this is about an adult and how bad it most certainly was for that small baby.

Honestly people, it is really none of anyones business. I have went online and seen other reports of dog attacks, and the articles are just as this one, parents never spoke out,the dogs owner never spoke out. So why is this different. What do you want them to say. The articles, the media, told what happen. As far as unpreventable I don't think an accident can be unpreventable. You only think of what you could have done after the effect.
And groomer are u telling me that no kid whatsoever has been in your place. Not that your comments are really bad... but honestly think about it, we,our children all of mankind are subject to accidents, some small some large.
All I know is people need to stop assuming what happen, quit trying to piece it togather and just pray that this family can heal.
This family owes none of us anything!!!! Let them grieve!!!!!

Not a very good job of reporting either almost a week after the fact.

Well trash I could think of a few choice places but jason is censoring what I say again so you are a big something with below average intelligence but I think you can figure it out on your own.

You can take two male dogs and a ***** that is in heat and you can guarantee there will be a fight of some kind. It doesn't matter what the breed is.

Again I am forced to put little pieces of a puzzle together. What some of you are trying to say is this kid was in the shop where dogs are being groomed in the floor where a rottweiler is playing with his toy like a dog should. I often wondered why homeowner insurance companies ask what kind of dogs do you have.

I see now why this is being kept hush hush, osha.

we are not blaming the mother or anyone yes its a tragic accident but could have been prevented!... my point being im a groomer myself and children or infants do not need to be in a kennel or grooming shop PERIOD!!!

Underdog - I was thinking the same thing.

don't understand the question ... I am just saying that this is very tragic..... and to place any wrong doing on the mother is just plain stupid. This is an accident a bad one > like I said we all make mistakes but with that said I will admit that my grandkids have been left with my Lab plenty of times. You just dont know sometimes. It just breaks my heart

Vickie are you feeling relief it was not your dog that killed the child?

I can not belive some of this talk. I know these people and how dare any of you to make this family out to be the bad guys. Have any of you not ever left a kid with a dog large or small have u busymomma made no mistakes with your children if so here is your mommy award. I have met the dog I have petted the dog my dog stays with that dog.... Now dont get me wrong I am glad the dog was put down .
When I heard about this I was devastaed as I never thought of the dog but the poor mother that I know very well watching as her child was dying.... God help you people... this woman needs your prayers. Imagine if it was your child. OMG I hurt for her and her wonderful family. I lost my son 2 months ago due to a motorcycle accident and it was on the news We wanted privacy time to grieve.
We all make mistakes some small and some large...... sometimes we take things for granted and I think that this was just that... So before you cast a stone at them look at your life and the last time I checked there was only one pefect man and he is holding that child in his arms in heaven.
And I left my real name ...

Yes very unpreventable i agree there... But my point of view is not the same as others, but that was not a situation that a child should be put in! It was PREVENTABLE!

Just because the owner said ,"it's not the breed but how you raise the dog." doesn't make it right. Obviously the owner is going along with this myth. You can't make excuses for something that is imbred into their brain. It's just like saying a lion will never attack if you raise it to be kind. It is a tragic , sad situation. Until the media or family tells what really happened, it leaves one to believe that this accident could have been avoided. Not being told the whole truth in a timely manner is why the public is angry.

@mastergroomer -Thank you for saying so better what I have been sruggling to get out. My prayers are with this family and this is a very tragic accident , but not an unpreventable one. No one should have to go through anything like this.

This is a very sad situation... my deepest thought and prayers are with the family... but one this is for sure in the business of grooming and kenneling...infants or kids period for that matter shouldnt be in a grooming shop! Never know what can happen!

I did not mean to be so rude in last post but I think it is ignorant to think the baby was NOT alone with the dog. Yes I am angry. I used to take my dogs to the kennel many years ago and there was always a lose Rottie in the front room, with or without a grandchild in a swing or playpen. I am suprised something bad has not happened before ie adult attacked or someone's dog that is being dropped off attacked. Dogs (any breed) can do anything if provoked - or not. You should not just say it is all in how you train them. The news states this was an unpreventable accident - it was unpreventable - treat your dog like a dog not a member of the family with a reasoning brain.

Why would you call a journalist/reporter a sensationalist for wanting to report what is a public record (a death) that has been called an accident, an unpreventable accident, and something that could save the life of another child. The kid is dead and buried and some of you act like you are running some kind of a cover up.
