I have my issues with Duke. But the service is reliable. And after carefully exploring the possibilities of generating my own electricity, Duke is by far the lower cost option for me.

Just Duke?

We are a capitalistic society. That means everyone you give $ to has, as it's #1 goal, to get as much $ from you as possible. Companies exist to make profit, and pay their CEO's yearly million-dollar salaries.

And as consumers, we're told "we have a choice". That's the biggest lie on Earth as many times we don't. And when we do, the choice is just to go without.

From a parts perspective, That refrigerator priced at $2400 only cost the maker $400 to make, and every hand in the cookie jar that gets the fridge from the maker to the retail store has their hand in bumping up the price. That new TV selling for $500... only $75 to make. Your new iPhone, at $1000, cost $110 in parts to Apple.

That's the nature of our society. We push the myth that everyone can get that "American Dream".... it keeps the sheep in check so we don't revolt and murder all the 1%'ers.

Has anyone else noticed the fact that Duke is screwing us?
