I see another law suit on the horizon. If the old jail was not fit for male prisoners and a judge had to force the county to build a new jail and the county is now housing women in the old jail that was all but condemned bend over cause its coming.

No, our females are now housed in the old jail, except the ones that give problems. Then, the Chief Jailer sends them to Forsyth or Ashe.

Thank you very much. Our jail population has been down lately and the extra cash is welcome. I understand you still bring us your women prisoners.

I have heard it all now. A criminal comes into our county and does a home invasion, and shoots one of our citizens multiple times. He gets arrested and placed in jail where he should be. Great job so far by the Sheriff's Office. Now, because the Chief Jailer and the other jail staff are afraid of this inmate, they ship him to another county jail, Ashe County, so that we the citizens can pay another county to house an inmate because our jail staff is afraid of this lowlife criminal. WTF?? It's a jail...it was built to hold criminals that have been arrested. If you are afraid, you need to find another profession!! I can't believe Sheriff Oliver would approve of shipping an inmate to another county because you are afraid of him. There are safeguards for violent inmates, 23 hour lock-down, isolation cells. He's locked up, he can't get to you unless you let him out!!
