Lowes Foods also sells the salad dressing.

It is the same family. It is on main street in East Bend. in the old Davis Hardware Bldng. Hard to miss. I looked at their website after my posting and see that they sell their version of the Sunny Italy dressing. I think this Roselli is a grandson. Other members of the family sell a version of the dressing too.

I used to love Sunny Italy in Wilkes. I hated to see them close. Is this the same family? Where is Kitchen Roselli?

Dog,

One of the hidden Jems is the Midtown Grill/Pebbles in Boonville. Good food, good lookin young babes as waitresses, Beer on draft and by the Bucket and happy hour after 5:00 PM, it does get a little loud and rouwdy by 6:00 or so. One babe sits on the patio drinking beer and eating ice cream at the same time.

Kitchen Roselli is one of my favorite places. I love the meatballs and the granny salad. I used to get the granny without sugar but they stopped making the sugarless. they have another homemade dressing that is just as good.

I like Mt Olympus, just wish they would build a new place. the building is old and stinky

There are some hidden gems to shop at in Yadkin County.
In Jonesville, there is a couple of stores in the movie theater center. One is clothing and the other has home decor.
In Boonville, a neat store is there at the mill. Also, there are some antique places if that interests you, such as Southern Pickers. The Wood Box is a great restaurant with Monday 1.25 hotdog specials. They have a Facebook page.
In downtown Yadkinville, a new place called The Nest & Hive is really a great surprise. They have a large variety of vintage and new products. It is my new favorite place, because they always have something new and different. Miss Emmily's Antiques is a really cool place to visit too that is across the street. They have some really nice vintage and antique pieces. There is a gift place called Whispers and Wings that has some neat stuff as well as Polka Dots. These businesses have Facebook pages, so check them out. The Yadkin Arts Center has several great shops and The Third Branch Cafe is a good place to eat. They usually have live music on Friday nights.
These are a few suggestions that many people overlook. We do have more than just dollar stores if people will check out what's going on in Yadkin County. Yadkin Valley Living is a great free magazine to look through to find places.

There is also an Amish store in Hamptonville. They have really good cakes, pies, and canned goods. It is on St. Pauls church road I think. Just be careful if you go out that way. They use the roads for their buggies. I used to be a volunteer fireman out there and ran several wreck calls caused by them.

You will go by Debbies snack bar out there if you go. They have good burgers but plan to wait a while to get them. It takes about 15 - 20 minutes.

As far as restaurants, I assume you mean the Yadkin county area and not just in our county limits.

Italian - I am not a fan of Taste of Italy. There is Theo's across from Generations that the few times I have been was pretty good. If it is baked spaghetti that you like, the family restaurant beside Taste of Italy is surprisingly good.

Steak - 21 and Main I think is supposed to be good. Also some of the wineries have nicer restaurants. Cody Creek up 601 north is supposed to have a nice place but I haven't been. They wouldn't let some black people into the place several years ago and I haven't ever tried them because of that. For me, the best steaks come from Combs Butcher Shoppe in Elkin (priced very well and good quality) and then we grill them ourselves.

Thai - I had supper tonight at Prime Thai (formally Deweys) in Elkin. It is always good.

Seafood - Don't waste your time at Yadkin Valley. It is always greasy. The owner is also very bad to his employees which is a major turn off to me. For normal seafood Pirates Landing is good on CC Camp road in Elkin. It is right beside 77. You can't miss it. For the best quality Full Moon Oyster Bar is some of the best I ever had, anywhere in the world. I have literally gotten King Crab legs the size of a babies arm and steamed oysters bigger than golf balls. It is pricey though. Figure $20-$40 a head.

Chicken - It is a little over 30 minutes from Yadkinville but you are very close to some world famous fried chicken. Keatons BBQ. It has been on the travel channel, KFC tried to buy their recipe back in the 80's, and going there is just an experience in itself. I have had to stand in line for an hour before and the time before last that I went, I met a guy from NY who planned his family trip to Disney to be driving by there at dinner time. It is off highway 64 midway between Mocksville and Statesville in the city of Cleveland.

Mexican - We have a great real Mexican restaurant across from Unifi on old 421. There is a little old lady in the kitchen and everything is scratch made.

JRs has good burgers in downtown Yadkinville.

There is a German Restaurant off Old Stage Rd. in Yadkinville. I have been there once to try it. It was real good but I am not a big fan of pork chops and most everything had that. That was my beef with it.

Welcome to the YC from another Wilkes native who came here by way of a few years in Charlotte.

Advocate mentioned a couple of running courses. The city park on 601 has an asphalt track. I have ran it a couple of times but it always seemed to be too crowded for my taste. Plus it has a pretty serious elevation change. The county park he is talking about is behind the YMCA. It is a .5 mile track with about a 40 ft. elevation change. It is a rock screening course that I usually use. I trained for 4 marathons there and ran a 9 miler there yesterday. There is also a mountain bike course there that starts in front of the Y. It goes around the perimeter of the park through the woods and has a loop at the end that goes around an abandoned cemetery. I think it is 2.5 miles out and back. The other consideration I like is the high schools don't lock up the tracks. They are rubber paved and easy on the joints for a long run or when the county track is too muddy.

Like I said, I am not a fan of the city track so when I run asphalt I either use a small road near my house that has little traffic or drive to Wilkesboro for the greenway.

Every dining experience at Mt. Olympus has been completely satisfactory for me.

Purr,

Jogging and walking, the Yadkin Co. Park on the access road off New 421 east, the Town Park in Yadkinville on Hwy 601 North.

Several Churches have large parking lots and driveways and cemetery roads that are used for walking, bike riding and jogging.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't recommend the Mt. Olympus buffet to anyone, and their menu food isn't much better!

Thanks advocatefortruth. We tried Taste of Italy a few nights ago. It was wonderful. I have driven by Generations, but wasn't sure if they are good. I'll try them next. Love a good steak.

What about places to walk or jog? Anywhere safe?

Smalltownman, you show little knowledge about eating out in the county.

Buffet dining Mt. Olymphus Hwy 67 before East Bend, Breakfast Buffet on Saturday Morning and Thuesday Night. is excellent Lunch and dinner buffets Monday-Friday.

Steaks, Generations in Jonesville.

Italian, Taste of Italy in the shopping Center in Yadkinville.

Pizza, Burgers Dinner Plates and a five dollar breakfast plate at the, Midtown Grill ie Pebbles in Boonville.

Mexican, Veracruz in Boonville. Gulf Coast Style Mexican. Seafood etc.

I agree that there is not much in the way of retail shopping.

Hardware 67 Hardware Jonesville , or Crossroads Hardware before East Bend.

Purrfect, when it comes to shopping and dining in Yadkin county, you would have been better off to have stayed in Wilkes.

There is little in the way of shopping in Yadkin; think Dollar General, Family Dollar, Maxway.

As for dining, chains and burger joints are the rule of the land around here.
