More kids starving in NC than bald eagles dying of lead poison in the US

You didn't answer my question.

Difficult to stay on topic, huh?

Dog... Legalize what? Pot? Alcohol is already legal. OK. Everything else has serious social and physical repercussions.

I find it funny that a anti government anarchist wants to legalize anything and tax it! Talk about hypocrite. Underdog is as asinine as a broken watch! At least the watch was right twice a day.

Yep. Noticed that, underdog.
Drugs= barney fame and justification to receive monies to 'fight drugs'.
Always gonna be drugs.

And always gonna be subhumans who delight in hurting living things.
The consequences to the acts of these cruel freaks is very weak.
Have that public hanging, and you will see less crime.

Legalize---tax

Under dog? Are you surprised? Politics? I suppose you have a solution? We ALL would love to hear it?

Have any of you noticed that no drug raids or arrests have made the news since the election?

We do and I don't think anyone has the answer. You can't make someone love their children. I do think that we need stricter laws in regards to the neglect of children. Teachers see this stuff and I'm sure if they thought that something would ever be done, then they could take initiative....but nothing can be done until it is too late.

Don't forget the child that was given to the drug dealer and murdered. Don't forget the child that was cut up and buried......we have a real problem in NC.

The recent horse seizure in Yadkin is a prime example. We will hold the horse owners accountable. As we should. They should pay for what they did (a public hanging, etc.). However, we don't hold parents accountable for malnourished kids. Why not?

You are exactly right, Walks. There are parents out there that will eat to the point of gluttony without giving a thought to whether or not their child has eaten. How do you combat that? Sure, there are people that are struggling and need help in our area. ALL kids deserve to eat. ALL kids deserve parents that love and care for them. Sadly, there are many kids out there that don't have that and there's nothing you or I can do about it. I don't know how to correct that mentality. I do know that rewarding it isn't the answer.

wow. agree with Mommotwo.
And, Don't Breed'em if You Can't Feed'em. I am not talking about circumstances unexpected. But today, all the electronic toys and certain tennie shoes and HDT and eating out and jacking heat up, or air up, and 'wheels' and jewelry and nails done...And a million other things are considered to be NEEDS. That is BS. They have no clue about priorities or the difference between needs and wants. And some keep on spitting out babies when they can't afford the ones they have already. But WE are suppose to feed'em, school them, give free medical, free house, blah, blah, blah.

northwest hunter, You don't think some people can care about more than one thing? That is has to be a choice of just ONE thing? Geez. But like what was said, I can't save the whole world. Pick your 'causes', and do something. I do.
I will say this- Animals have always been, and still are, at the bottom of the barrel.

There are more deer being run over than children starving. You're just another liberal idiot.

Looking at those statistics makes me wonder why this is happening. Those cities should be among the easiest places in NC to find a job. We all want to save the world, but in reality we must solve the problem first. There are people that refuse to work to feed their families. I'm curious how many of these families have cell phones, internet, expensive vehicles, etc? Hunger should not be an issue with children between food stamps and food banks. The real issue is parents that will not sacrifice everything possible in order to provide for their children. If you really want to see poverty look to other countries where parent's really don't have the resources to feed their kids. We are so lucky in America and so many are too lazy to take advantage.

Yes, I agree by all means feed those children that you know are hungry. But, we must somehow hold those parents responsible for not providing for their kids if they are able.

If we want to talk about something, let's talk about something worthwhile. When was the last time you gave to a local charity, that impacts your community and or your town. Before we start slamming people for not paying taxes or talking about dead birds in other states, let's discuss some local issues right here at home. How many kids in your neighborhood are going to go without breakfast and lunch everyday because school is out for the summer?
It's a shame that we get so focused on politics, salaries, drugs, and economic growth of our townships, that we forget about the majority of NC towns are "going backwards" instead of moving forward.
What can we do as citizens to make a difference in the family's that need food and shelter right here in our towns? What can you do? What have you done?
Don't answer "out loud" but do we even realize that our state is one of the WORST states to have people starving?
