As of a week ago he was still in rehab. Was shot twice in the stomach/groin and twice in his arm with what appeared to be .38 Special Plus P high velocity round hollow points

Any update on the condition of Chris Groce?
Given the hints at the severity of his injuries in the news stories, a shotgun might have been used at relatively close range. But that is only a guess.

These thugs never do any real thinking. Run and hide? Within 72 hours, they must spend some time sleeping and will desperately want something to eat. And that will be true every 72 hours, or fewer hours, thereafter for the rest of their lives. Not easy to arrange for those trying to hide.

Update 8 p.m. — Detectives with the Yadkin County Sheriff's Office have arrested Trevor Lee Dillard.
I am so glad these 4 devils were all caught. Let's have a street hanging!
Good work, law enforcement!

It appears that Dillard does not have a previous record in the NC Department of Corrections system.

Roger Phillip Swope is the son of Robert Eugene Swope. Robert has no criminal record with the NC Dept of Corrections. It appears that Roger was born in Yadkin County but that is not officially confirmed. Do not know where Robert lives nor if he is living at this time. I have never before heard of either of them. Information is from the internet.

My apologies for complaining about the lack of transparency. After reading the article in the Winston Salem Journal, I understand Sheriff Oliver's comments at the time.

Both Chris Groce and Rick Amos are very well known and respected in Yadkin County, and I for one was very worried about them. (As well as being worried about dangerous criminals in the area.)
Kudos to Sheriff Oliver and his organization for a job well done.

Thanks for the update. I do wish they would release the names of the suspects. Especially if they are locals. I had heard the same thing about the incident at Food Lion. That would mean that they have photos. That would be a great thing to release to the public I would think.

Momma,
There was a woman involved who dropped them off at the home, she is in custody. The search for the two mailes is still ongoing. I understand that they were involved in another incident earlier at a Food Lion.
The person shot was a location Auctioneer.

I know that we have to let the officers do their job, but I do think that if there are dangerous fugitives in the area that they should keep the public informed on the hunt. Very little information about the suspects and possible locations lead everyone to believe that they really don't have a handle on the situation.

Praying that whomever got shot makes a full, fast, and speedy recovery.
No doubt in my mind that the hooligans will be dealt with; hope they are looking forward to their long time in prison.
