There is a trick you may have played and some companies may have a higher age before they start raising it. Tell them you got you license when you were 25.

Edge when you turn 65 your insurance goes up just like a 16 y/o. Old people start wrecking like teenagers.

you are right it is illegal to eat and technically to drink (non-alcohol drinks) while driving. anything that takes your focus from the road is dangerous.
it only takes one-half a second for anything to happen, where something gets injured or killed when you're moving thousands of pounds. and the faster you move it the more serious the damage to something.
it's annoying to be stuck behind older people on the road who drive well under the speed limit. ironically they are probably the safest drivers because all their attention is on the road. they're never eating, drinking, texting, fiddling with the radio or doing anything to divert their eyes from the road. I try to remember that to reduce my frustration at driving behind them 45 in a 55 lol.

I didn't know that but it would make sense. They ought to start a "chew it and lose it" campaign then.

Reading slows your reaction time more than drinking Texting slows your reaction time more than reading.
The thing they say is the worst offender at slowing your driving reaction time is eating while driving. Think about that the next time you see a line wrapped around a drive thru. It is much more dangerous than drinking and driving but still legal and socially accepted. It just goes to show what can be achieved when a bunch of "moms" get together to push for laws under the cover of protecting kids. The same is happening in a lot of parts of this country with guns right now.

So your husband lost his job for a DUI
Personally, I think we are too hard on drinking and driving. Those **** mothers with MADD have screwed it up for everyone.

I guess the state has changed their rules. My husband worked for them several years ago. There were several that lost their jobs for dwi.. They were fired on the spot, didn't wait for them to go to court.. One of them was a supervisor.

You dumb idiot frady, when you are caught for dwi you automatically lose your license for a period. I would think the dot has a sop on the subject.

Furthermore he is innocent until proven guilty, you all have said that yourselves in other threads. You all believe this guy should loose his job for a ticket he received two years ago without the evidence being presented in a court of law. But you think police officers should be fired for doing their job. He only has one DWI pending for court. Someone said he had two?

And one would think with that kind of behavior that one would not be allowed to drive around still working there, I know if I got charged with that I would no longer be delivering goods in my company truck. Just a thought. I wonder if they are aware of it

One would think that a valid NC drivers license would be a requirement for the job. Much less driving a state owned vehicle with no license.

I don't know about that one, but I know he is an absolute idiot. And has no right to be driving around drawing a paycheck from the state taxpayers and being a drunk.
