Forbush H.S. Teacher Accused of Assaulting Handicapped Student

The Bible is a good story

Has anyone seen where the "exceptional" kid in Kansas was told to remove his letter jacket because he didn't earn it? I say good job to the person that made that call.....People with kids like that need to learn not everything should be handed to them.....Keep them at home if you don't want their feelings hurt...Stop taking away from the ones that work hard and can contribute to society! Stop weighing us down and using schools as free daycare!! Put them in "exceptional" schools...I am tired of my kids having to walk on egg shells because little "TIMMY!!!" will get their feelings hurt or the real truth is that it is the parents that get their feeling hurt not the "exceptional" kids.

My parents would have kept me at home if I were "exceptional". I mean they don't have to go to the extremes they did in ancient Greece...I mean I do have a heart.

That is why they used to be kept at home and not paraded around...Keep there at home and stuff like this won't happen.

This is one of the most ugly asinine statements ever made
. Amen, Riverbend.

Maybe you should have been kept at home and never allowed to go out.... Pitiful attitude.

Sorry to say, but this woman is "unstable." Maybe she can get a job at her husband's private school. Maybe Thom can get her a voucher.

World, according to a quick review of NC statute assault on a handicapped individual is a felony, so I'm not sure what is going to come out on this one before it is over. Remember that exceptional children services of provided through the person's 21st birthday.

Don't know much about this particular thing but think she has a lawsuit against BOEd claiming injury by a student or something like that. May have just been gossip. Surely not gossip i Yadkin County. Yea right

i actually thought any assault on a handicapped person was a felony....but I do not know this for sure. I totally agree it does take an exceptional person to work with exceptional ppl. however....no one has a right to assault a child.

I agree she was charged with misdemeanor assault, not convicted as of this date and the charge does not describe what she has been accused of.

She is working at the High School so these are older students, I wonder if she was defending herself? Exceptional children need exceptional folks to care for them, I've witnessed behavior from the students which if committed by a non-impaired individual would be considered assault.

Not a defense of the women charged with the crime just stating that without all the facts of the situation it seems quick to judgement to condemn someone to **** for their actions.

Judy Ellison Wilburn, 62, of Pfafftown, was charged Friday with one misdemeanor count of assault on a handicapped person and one felony count of obstruction of justice.

I don't see anyone quick to judge.. it is right here in black and white....

Quick to judge folks, there is no mention of what this person is accused of doing, seems her major problem was an obstruction of justice charge.
